‘Sounder Pink’ St. Mary's Vineyard, West Sussex, England, 2023

£22.50

100% Pinot Noir (Clone 386)

Grapegrowing: The St. Mary's vineyard is located in the hills north of Brighton on chalky soils. This is a cool site that is ideal for crafting complex pink wines from Pinot Noir.

Winemaking: The grapes are hand-harvested and crushed at BGW with around 48-72 hours skin contact as the wine ferments in old French oak barriques at cool temperatures. This extended timing of skin maceration gives deeper colour and more flavour, whilst barrel fermentation and ageing develops complex tertiary notes.

Fact: We bottle all our pink wines in darker green bottles (instead of clear bottles) as we respect and love our wines, and this type of bottle protects the wine against light damage which is common on clear bottlings.
